If you have ever been to the ice exhibits at the Gaylord Resorts over Christmas time, then you have seen just a small sample of the magic the ice carvers from Harbin, China can create.
These workers are brought over each year around Labor Day and they work to create the ice exhibits which open around Thanksgiving.
But if you really want to see their talents, then you need to head to China, specifically Harbin, China and attend the Harbin International Snow and Ice Festival. This is it’s 33rd year and it is absolutely amazing. It covers covers more than 750,000 square meters and features up to 180,000 cubic meters of ice!
CNN did a story this week on this festival complete with a video. If you can’t make plans to attend this year, then make plans to attend the 34th annual show next year….. and dress warmly, very warmly.
