If you are thinking of a vacation to Australia, look to rent a car and go for a ride on Australia’s Ocean Road.
It is a road trip on one of the world’s most beautiful scenic drives. The road is 150 miles of winding coastline, towering cliffs, lush forests, fascinating wildlife and incredible views of southern Victoria.
The road begins in Torquay, a seaside town about 60 miles southwest of Melbourne, and ending in the town of Allansford, to the west.
Remember you are driving in Australia, so you are driving on the right hand side of the road, opposite of how you drive in the USA.
Takes a while to get used to it so don’t make this the first thing you do when you get off your flight in Melbourne unless you have been driving in Australia a few days already.
The New York Times just did a marvelous story on this drive that you will want to read and then add this drive to your next trip to Australia.
