SATA Azores Airlines started Spain-US service via Ponta Delgada home.
SATA Azores Airlines launched twice-weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays) operations between Barcelona (BCN) and Boston (BOS) on 29 March. The 6,244-kilometre sector is flown via Ponta Delgada (PDL), where passengers change from the A320 flying in from Spain to an A310 with continues onto the US.
There is no competition on either city pair. Barcelona currently has four non-stop US services to Miami, New York JFK, Philadelphia and New York Newark.
