JetBlue has announced it has officially launched service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Tulum’s Felipe Carrillo Puerto Tulum International Airport (TQO), with the first flight arriving in Tulum on June 13, 2024. Tulum service will operate daily, making this JetBlue’s third destination in Mexico, where it also serves Cancun and Los Cabos.
“As the only airline with direct service from New York’s JFK to Tulum, we are thrilled to offer our customers our award-winning service, low fares, and another option when traveling to the Mexican Caribbean,” said David Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships. “JetBlue began service to Mexico more than 17 years ago with flights from New York to Cancun and we’re proud to expand our footprint in Mexico.”
“JetBlue has been an invaluable partner in connecting travelers from across the United States to the Mexican Caribbean with direct flights to Cancun. We are excited to see this partnership continue to flourish with JetBlue’s new daily nonstop service from New York JFK to Tulum,” said Andrés Martínez Reynoso, Director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Board. “Tulum, with its serene beaches, eco-conscious living, and rich Mayan history, will now be more accessible to travelers, in addition to points of interest further south along the Grand Costa Maya. We look forward to welcoming New Yorkers, and those transiting through JFK, to this new era in the Mexican Caribbean.”
Tulum, located southwest of Playa del Carmen and Cancun, has become a top choice for those seeking an escape with health-centric resorts and retreats, captivating archaeological ruins, and natural sinkholes. JetBlue’s entry into Tulum supports the carrier’s ongoing push to offer customers more choice and more great international destinations to explore. By the end of 2024, JetBlue will serve 40 international destinations in a route network spanning from Europe to South America.
