October 5, 2026 — Royal Caribbean International has set its 2027 President’s Cruise for Odyssey of the Seas, a seven-night sailing from Rome on September 19, 2027. Royal Caribbean Blog reported the announcement on October 4.

The President’s Cruise is the line’s annual fan sailing. It is open to anyone, and it draws heavily from the Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program. Past editions have included question-and-answer sessions with Royal Caribbean chief executive Michael Bayley, special events, exclusive merchandise, and fireworks and drone shows.

The sailing

What it means for airline travelers

  • Airport: Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is the gateway. Rome cruises sail from Civitavecchia, well outside the city, so allow for the transfer on embarkation day.
  • Go early. Mid-September transatlantic flights to Italy are still busy. Standby travelers should plan to reach Rome at least a day ahead, and two days is safer.
  • Book the cabin early too. Fan sailings tend to fill with loyalty members. The report says nothing about travel-industry rates on this departure, so do not count on interline space appearing late.
  • No changes to existing bookings. This is a themed designation of a scheduled cruise, not a new or altered itinerary.
