October 5, 2026 — Travelers who move Bilt Rewards points into World of Hyatt have until December 31, 2026 to do it at full value. Starting January 1, 2027, the same Bilt points will convert into 25% fewer Hyatt points.
Bilt transfers to Hyatt one-for-one today. From January 1, the ratio becomes 4:3, so 1,000 Bilt points will become 750 World of Hyatt points. Points blogs first reported the change on October 1, with more coverage over the weekend.
There is no exception for elite members or premium cards. Frequent Miler notes the cut applies even to holders of Bilt’s $495-a-year Palladium card.
The move follows Chase. On October 1, 2026, Chase cut Hyatt transfers to the same 4:3 ratio for Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred cardholders. Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cards still transfer 1:1. One Mile at a Time called Bilt’s move “kind of a given.”
The change in numbers
| Program | Ratio to World of Hyatt | Since / from |
|---|---|---|
| Bilt Rewards (all members) | 1:1 now, then 4:3 | 4:3 from January 1, 2027 |
| Chase Sapphire Preferred, Ink Business Preferred | 4:3 | Since October 1, 2026 |
| Chase Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Reserve for Business | 1:1 | Unchanged |
What it means for airline travelers
- The deadline is December 31, 2026. Transfers made through that date still go 1:1.
- Hyatt awards will cost a third more in Bilt points. A night that takes 15,000 Hyatt points needs 15,000 Bilt points today and 20,000 from January 1.
- This reaches the all-inclusives. World of Hyatt points book Hyatt Inclusive Collection resorts such as Secrets, Dreams and Zoëtry, so the change affects those award stays too.
- Transfer for a real plan, not on speculation. Standby travelers often book hotels late. If you have Hyatt stays planned for 2027, moving the points before year-end locks in the better rate.
- Chase Sapphire Reserve is the 1:1 route left among the programs named in the reporting.
