What is happening
Aimbridge All-Inclusive, which runs the Wyndham Alltra resorts, has launched Amaná Retreat, an adults-only concept inside two existing Wyndham Alltra resorts in the Dominican Republic: Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana and Wyndham Alltra Samaná. Wyndham Alltra is the all-inclusive brand of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The rest of each resort stays as it is. No start date was given beyond the October 2026 announcement, so the start date is TBA; check with the resort before booking.

What it means for airline travelers
- Punta Cana is the easier trip: The Punta Cana resort is about 40 km from PUJ. The Samaná resort is about 76 km from El Catey (AZS), a smaller airport, so allow for a longer transfer and fewer flight choices.
- Book the right room type: The adults-only perks come only with Amaná room categories. A standard room at the same resort does not include them.
- No construction: These are existing resorts with re-designated buildings, and the announcement mentions no renovation work.
