October 31, 2026 — The Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort has announced a renovation worth more than $60 million that will touch every guest room in its two towers, its lobby, restaurants and meeting space. The work starts this fall, runs in phases through December 2028, and the hotel stays open throughout.
What is happening
Owner Columbia Sussex Corporation, which bought the 744-room oceanfront resort in September 2025, is funding what it calls a property improvement and brand renovation. The project covers both towers, all rooms and suites, corridors, the lobby, public spaces, food and beverage outlets, meeting facilities and recreational areas. The resort sits on the Atlantic shoreline across from the Ocean Center convention venue.
| Phase | Timing | Work |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 | North Tower guest rooms, corridors and lobby |
| 2 | Summer 2027 – December 2027 | South Tower guest rooms, corridors and lobby |
| 3 | 2028 | Restaurants, bars and meeting space |
| Completion | December 2028 (expected) | Full scope finished |
Specific new features have not been announced. The resort will host the AMI Conference & Expo in 2027, 2028 and 2029.
What it means for airline travelers
- Airports: Daytona Beach International (DAB) is the closest airport; Orlando International (MCO) is the larger alternative about an hour’s drive away, with far more flights.
- Expect construction: The hotel stays open, but one tower or another will be under renovation from now until the end of 2027, and restaurants and meeting areas will be worked on in 2028. When booking, ask which tower you will be in and whether work is under way nearby.
- Best timing: Rooms in the North Tower are scheduled to be finished first (spring 2027) and the South Tower by December 2027.
- Discount rates: No travel-industry or airline-employee rate was mentioned in the announcement.
