November 4, 2026 — Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has released the first images of Mekong Mystique, a new river ship that will join Mekong Jewel in Vietnam and Cambodia in 2028.
What was announced
Uniworld showed early designs for the ship’s reception, lobby, Grande Suite and sundeck, Cruise Critic and Cruise Industry News reported. The interiors were designed by Madame Diep Ngoc Le, founder of Lotus Cruises. President and CEO Ellen Bettridge described the look as “blending classic Indochine influences with European elegance.” The ship is part of a three-ship expansion that Bettridge called Uniworld’s largest yet.

What it means for airline travelers
- Long-haul planning: Mekong river trips usually start or end in Vietnam or Cambodia, so expect long flights with connections through Asian hubs. Check Uniworld’s land and air arrangements once ports are published.
- Allow buffer days: arrive at least a day early, more if you are flying standby, because missing a river ship mid-itinerary is hard to fix.
- Check entry rules: Vietnam and Cambodia each have their own visa requirements; review them well before you travel.
- No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
