October 1, 2026 — Choice Hotels has added Sarasota’s Caretta Landing to its Ascend Collection of independent upscale hotels. The hotel is a short drive from Siesta Key Beach.
Caretta Landing Sarasota has 86 rooms, a heated outdoor pool shared with a neighboring property, wellness-focused amenities, flexible meeting space and common areas. Choice says its design is inspired by the area’s “coastal lifestyle.”
Nearby attractions named by Choice include Siesta Key Beach, The Ringling Museum, Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium and University Town Center. It was announced on September 29, 2026, together with Coral Pointe Sarasota, another new Ascend hotel in the city.

What it means for airline travelers
- Airports. Sarasota Bradenton (SRQ) is the closest. Tampa (TPA) has more flights, which can help standby travelers, but the drive is longer.
- Season. Florida’s Gulf Coast gets busy in winter and spring, so book early for those months.
- Rates. Ascend is part of Choice Privileges. No travel-industry or airline-employee rates were mentioned.
