JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, October 2, 2026 — King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is in the middle of a two-part terminal reshuffle. Its new Terminal 4 is taking airlines in phases, and seven more carriers are moving from the North Terminal to the Hajj and Umrah Terminal between October 1 and 15.
What is changing
Terminal 4 began phased operations on September 27. It covers 97,000 square meters, adds capacity for up to 15 million passengers a year and includes a group check-in facility for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. Separately, the airport said on October 1 that seven North Terminal airlines will relocate to the Hajj and Umrah Terminal, a step it said was “meant to improve the flow of operations and the passenger experience.”

What it means for non-revs
- Confirm the terminal before you leave for the airport. Tickets and listings issued before the move may still show the North Terminal.
- ZED and interline travellers are the ones affected. Wizz Air, AJet, Pegasus, SalamAir, Akasa Air, Azerbaijan Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways are among the carriers changing buildings.
- Allow extra time. New check-in areas, new signage and staff still settling in can slow things down in the first weeks. Standby check-in cut-offs do not move for a wrong-terminal mistake.
- Connecting between airlines? Check whether both now use the same terminal, and leave a longer layover if they do not.
- Dates may shift. Four of the seven Hajj Terminal move dates are reported differently by different outlets, so verify with the airline on the day.
