October 7, 2026 — More than 60 Loganair cabin crew will vote on strike action in a ballot that opens on Thursday, October 8, after their union rejected the Scottish regional airline’s pay offer.
What happened
Unite says it is balloting its cabin crew members at Loganair after the airline tabled what the union calls a “final” pay offer before any negotiation had taken place. The ballot opens on October 8 and closes on October 27, 2026. Any strike dates would be set after the result.
The crew are based at seven airports: Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, the Isle of Man and Southampton. Unite points to £31.6 million in after-tax profit at the airline over four years. The size of the offer has not been published.
Loganair describes it as an improved two-year offer made in a difficult climate of higher fuel costs and softer demand. The airline said “we do not expect this situation to affect our services.”

Isle of Man Today notes that Loganair links the island with Birmingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London Heathrow and Manchester, routes on which travellers have few alternatives.
What it means for non-revs
- No disruption before October 27. Nothing can happen until the ballot closes.
- Plan for possible action from November. UK law requires unions to give advance notice of a strike, so dates would be announced ahead of time. Watch for the ballot result on or after October 27.
- Loganair flies small aircraft on thin routes. A cancelled Highlands, islands or Isle of Man flight often has no same-day alternative, and standby seats disappear quickly once passengers are rebooked.
- Interline travellers connecting to Loganair from larger partners should build in a fallback, such as a ferry or rail option, for late autumn travel.
