October 8, 2026 — Scat Cat’s Club, the jazz lounge at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, closed for refurbishment on October 6, 2026. Disney’s app and website show the lounge reopening in January 2027, WDW News Today reports.

The New Orleans-style lounge is known for live jazz, and it has been the place to buy the resort’s beignets. Disney lists the lounge’s café counter as returning sooner, in December 2026. The hotel itself remains open.

Disney has set up a temporary bar outside the lounge doors. It is open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Beignets and coffee have moved to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, elsewhere in the resort, until the work is done.

Disney has not said what the refurbishment involves. It also has not announced whether live jazz will be staged elsewhere at the resort in the meantime.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Holiday stays are affected. The lounge will be shut through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. If the jazz bar is why you chose this resort, weigh that before you book.
  • Existing bookings stand. This is a venue closure, not a hotel closure. Only the lounge is listed as closed.
  • You can still get a drink and a beignet. The temporary bar runs evenings only, so there is no bar service before 5 p.m.
  • The lounge entrance is blocked. The temporary bar stands in front of the doorway. Disney has not published construction hours.
  • Dates may move. Disney extended two other resort refurbishments this month. Check the Disney World app before you travel.
