October 10, 2026 — Safari operator andBeyond is rebuilding its Xaranna camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The property will reopen in August 2027 as andBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Lodge, and bookings are already open.

The company announced the project on October 9. The release lists the reopening as scheduled for August 1, 2027. It does not say when the existing andBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp stops taking guests for the work.

The lodge sits in a 90,500-hectare private concession in the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stays small: nine suites plus one new two-bedroom family suite. The design is by LIFE Interiors Architecture Strategic Design.

What is planned

  • Suites: each has a living area, personal bar, two-way fireplace, private pool and shaded sala. The Family Suite is two connected suites that can also be sold separately.
  • Main area: a redesigned lounge and dining space with indoor and outdoor dining, an interactive kitchen, a traditional boma, a library, a wine bodega and a stargazing nest.
  • Wellness: a new wellness center with a hammam, Rasul therapy, hot tub and hydrotherapy deck, plus a fitness area with a cold plunge pool.
  • Families: children of all ages are accepted under the WILDchild program, with age limits on some activities (walking safaris and mokoro trips from age 16).
  • Included activities: twice-daily game drives, guided walks, mokoro trips, motorized boat cruises and community visits. Private safaris and helicopter flights cost extra.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Book long-range. Bookings for the rebuilt lodge are open for stays from August 2027. With only ten suites, peak-season dates will go early.
  • If you hold a Xaranna booking before August 2027, ask andBeyond whether your dates fall inside the rebuild. The release does not give the closing date.
  • Access takes planning. The release says guests arrive by boat or vehicle and does not name the gateway airport or airstrip. Confirm transfers with andBeyond before you list for flights, and leave a buffer day if you are flying standby into Botswana, because safari transfers run to fixed times.
  • Pricing. No rates were published. andBeyond’s release does not mention travel-industry or airline-employee rates; ask the operator or a safari specialist directly.
