October 14, 2026 — AmaWaterways will offer a six-day Machu Picchu trip after its Magic of Colombia river cruises. It starts on select departures in April 2027 and will be available after every sailing of that itinerary from 2028.
The details
- Guests leave the ship in Cartagena, Colombia, and fly to Lima, Peru. The Cartagena–Lima flight is included.
- The trip goes on to Cusco and the Sacred Valley and ends with a private guided tour of Machu Picchu.
- Guests reach Machu Picchu on Belmond’s Hiram Bingham train or Inca Rail’s first-class service, and can choose between two hotel levels (“Boutique” or “Iconic”).
- Price: TBA (not given in the announcement).
What it means for airline travelers
- This is a one-way trip: you start in Colombia and finish in Peru. Plan your flight home from Peru rather than from Cartagena (CTG).
- No travel-industry or interline rate changes were mentioned.
