October 17, 2026 — MSC Virtuosa is sailing the last cruises of its UK summer season from Southampton and will leave on November 7 for a 25-night repositioning voyage to Santos, Brazil, ahead of a winter in South America.

The schedule

When MSC Virtuosa
Rest of October 2026 Four 4- to 7-night cruises from Southampton to Northern Europe and Iberia (Ireland, Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain and more)
November 7, 2026 25-night repositioning, Southampton to Santos, via the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and Brazil
Winter 2026–27 Brazil cruises from Santos, Salvador and Maceió
Summer 2027 and summer 2028 Western Mediterranean seasons (Spain, France, Italy, Tunisia)

The 4,888-passenger, 177,100-ton ship has just completed a 12-night Canary Islands trip, the season’s last long sailing. It entered service in May 2021 with a UK season.

Other MSC ships in Southampton

  • MSC Preziosa sails from Southampton in winter 2026–27.
  • MSC Meraviglia arrives in Southampton on May 18, 2027, for its first UK season.

What it means for airline travelers

  • The November 7 repositioning ends in Santos, the cruise port for São Paulo. You will need a one-way flight home from São Paulo (GRU); check passport validity and any entry requirements for Brazil before booking.
  • Flying to Southampton? Most U.S. travelers land at London Heathrow (LHR) and transfer by road or rail; arrive the day before, since transatlantic standby loads can be unpredictable.
  • Summer 2027 Mediterranean cruises mean flights to European gateways; embarkation ports were not published.
  • No change to interline or travel-industry cruise rates was mentioned.
