October 20, 2026 — Update: a year after groundbreaking, the Signia by Hilton hotel at the Savannah Convention Center on Hutchinson Island is rising. A new local report gives fresh details on its height and Hilton’s investment, and the hotel is still expected to open in 2028.
What is new
WTOC reported on October 20 that the 444-room hotel will stand 18 stories and cover about 461,000 square feet, taller than the 15-story Westin next door. The station also reported that Hilton has already put $10 million of “key money” (an upfront payment that secures a long-term management contract) into the project. The opening target is still 2028; earlier releases said mid-2028.
