What is happening
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts named the project among its anticipated 2027-and-beyond openings in a development update released October 20, and Caribbean Journal reported the same day that the beachfront resort is targeting mid-2027. The resort sits on Playa Esmeralda on the Dominican Republic’s northeastern coast, near Samaná Bay, and is designed by architect Isay Weinfeld in a tropical-modernist style. The project is tied to Tropicalia and the Cisneros family, whose La Querencia farm is expected to supply ingredients to the kitchens.

Miches is a fast-growing resort area: Caribbean Journal notes Hilton’s Zemi Miches is already there, with JW Marriott and Autograph Collection hotels planned nearby.
What it means for airline travelers
- Nearest major gateway: Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Hilton lists PUJ as about 63 miles and roughly a 90-minute drive from Miches; La Romana (LRM) and Santo Domingo Las Américas (SDQ) are farther away.
- Nothing to book yet: no reservation date or rates have been published. Watch for an on-sale announcement in the months ahead.
- Neither Four Seasons nor Caribbean Journal mentions travel-industry or airline-employee rates for this resort.
