October 21, 2026 — Virgin Voyages has cancelled Brilliant Lady’s October 30, 2027 Halloween cruise from Los Angeles because the ship has been booked for a private charter, and has replaced the next week’s 7-night sailing with two shorter trips. Separately, the adults-only line’s joint air-and-cruise package with JetBlue Vacations goes on sale today.

Halloween 2027 sailing cancelled for a charter

Cruise Mummy reports that booked guests were told the 7-night Mexican Riviera cruise had been cancelled “due to a private charter.” The charter customer has not been named. Brilliant Lady carries 2,770 guests.

Sailing Original plan What happens now
Oct 30 – Nov 6, 2027 (7 nights, Los Angeles round trip) San Diego, Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas Cancelled (private charter)
Nov 6 – Nov 13, 2027 (7 nights, Los Angeles round trip) Mexican Riviera Replaced by a 4-night cruise (Catalina Island and Ensenada) and a 3-night cruise (Ensenada only). Exact dates TBA

Options for Halloween-cruise guests:

  • Move to any 7-night Los Angeles sailing between September 18 and November 13, 2027, keeping the original fare and promotions, plus $100 onboard credit; or
  • Take a full refund of the voyage fare to the original form of payment.

Guests on the November 6 sailing are being moved to the new 3- or 4-night cruise with payments carried over automatically, plus $100 onboard credit. No deadline to choose was published (TBA), and the report does not mention any reimbursement for flights.

This is not the first time: in August 2025 Virgin cancelled Scarlet Lady’s April 19, 2026 Caribbean sailing for a charter.

“Do Not Disturb” package with JetBlue Vacations

Virgin Voyages and JetBlue Vacations are selling a bundle that pairs a kid-free JetBlue flight with an adults-only cruise. It goes on sale today, October 21, 2026, at 12 p.m. Eastern, through JetBlue Vacations only.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Booked on Brilliant Lady for October 30 or November 6, 2027? Hold off on flights to Los Angeles until you have chosen between the transfer and the refund, and until Virgin publishes the new short-cruise dates. If you already bought flights, check your airline’s change rules; the report does not say Virgin will cover flight costs.
  • Los Angeles sailings leave from the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. LAX is the main airport, with Long Beach (LGB) closer to the port. Plan to arrive the day before, especially when flying standby.
  • The JetBlue package is a fixed, ticketed trip. Its flights are part of the bundle, so it is not a fit if you plan to fly on your own pass benefits. Note the flights use Fort Lauderdale (FLL) while the ship leaves from PortMiami; the package includes the transfer.
  • If you sail the March 4, 2027 cruise on your own instead, Miami (MIA) is the closest airport to PortMiami, with FLL as an alternative. Arrive a day early on standby.
  • Neither report mentions travel-industry or interline rates.
