October 22, 2026 — Azamara will take Azamara Journey out of service for a two-week drydock in November 2028 as part of its Azamara Forward renovation program.

The details

  • Drydock: November 16 – November 30, 2028. Shipyard: TBA.
  • New and refreshed: a reimagined Discoveries Restaurant, a Chef’s Table experience, a new Atlas Bar, a transformed Cabaret Lounge, a refreshed Sanctum Spa, plus stateroom and suite upgrades.
  • Not included: the Penthouse Deck stays exclusive to Azamara Quest.
  • First sailing after the work: November 30, 2028, a 12-night Greece and Egypt round trip from Athens. More sailing and booking details are due in the coming weeks.
  • Fleet context: Azamara Quest’s first post-renovation sailing departs December 18, 2026; Azamara Onward’s upgrades are planned for 2027.

CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler said the work is about “staying true to what guests love” about the line.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Azamara Journey is out of service November 16–30, 2028; no cancelled sailings were reported, but check any booking in that window.
  • The relaunch cruise leaves Athens (ATH) on November 30, 2028. Plan to arrive a day early.
  • No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
