October 22, 2026 — Hilton has added Pay with Points to digital checkout in the Hilton Honors app. Elite members can now use points on eligible hotel charges without going to the front desk. The feature is live at 150 U.S. hotels to start.
What is happening
Hilton announced on October 21 that members can review their folio in the app at checkout, choose from the points options offered, and apply points to eligible charges. Hilton says it is the first major hotel brand to offer this digitally.
| Detail | What’s been announced |
|---|---|
| Program | Hilton Honors (Hilton) |
| Who can use it | Silver, Gold, Diamond and Diamond Reserve members |
| How | Digital checkout in the Hilton Honors app: review the folio, choose a points option, apply it to eligible charges |
| Available now | 150 participating U.S. hotels |
| By end of 2026 | More than 800 hotels expected |
| Full rollout | More than 6,000 U.S. and Canada hotels, early 2027 |
Hilton says availability and redemption options vary by hotel. Brad Anderson, vice president of the Hilton Honors program, said: “Loyalty is personal.”
What it means for airline travelers
- Quicker checkout: If you’re in a hurry to make an early flight, you can settle eligible charges with points in the app instead of waiting at the desk.
- Base members can’t use it: You need at least Silver status. The program’s entry tier doesn’t qualify.
- It won’t work everywhere yet: It’s only at 150 U.S. hotels for now. Outside the U.S. and Canada, plan on the usual front-desk process. Hilton hasn’t announced a date for other countries.
- Check the value: Hilton didn’t publish the redemption rate for points used on charges. Before you redeem, compare it with what your points are worth on award nights.
