October 23, 2026 — Paris police have extended the nightly curfew around Place de la République and Les Halles until 6 a.m. on Monday, October 26. Thursday night’s security closures also cut RER B service to Charles de Gaulle airport from late evening.
What’s new since yesterday
- Curfew extended: The curfew now runs nightly from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Monday, October 26, restricting movement around République and the Les Halles area, Sortiraparis reported on the evening of October 22. Earlier reports said it would last “as long as necessary.”
- Stations closed from 10 p.m.: At the police prefecture’s request, RATP closed République, Châtelet, Les Halles, Châtelet–Les Halles and Trocadéro on Thursday night. Trains may pass through without stopping, and passengers cannot change lines inside these stations.
- Airport rail link cut: RER B was interrupted from 10:45 p.m. between Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame and the CDG 2–TGV and Mitry–Claye branches. RATP advised changing at Denfert-Rochereau. Line 11 was cut between Hôtel de Ville and Châtelet.
- Saturday protest route: For the “yellow vest” protest day on Saturday, October 24, a permit has been filed for a march from Place de la Bastille toward the Opéra district, though the route is not yet official, infostourisme reported. Another protest day is set for October 31.
- November 5 strike: The union coalition’s general strike and national SNCF strike remain on for Thursday, November 5. SNCF has not yet published cancellations (TBA).

What it means for airline travelers
- Late arrivals at CDG: If you land in the evening, don’t count on RER B into central Paris. Plan for a taxi, ride-share or airport bus, and allow extra time.
- Early departures: If you are flying out of CDG early in the morning, don’t rely on a late-night or pre-dawn RER through Châtelet. Consider staying near the airport the night before.
- Avoid the curfew zones at night through Monday morning, and stay clear of the Bastille–Opéra area on Saturday.
- Plan around November 5. If you are flying standby into Paris to connect by TGV, avoid that date or book a refundable train ticket.
- Register with STEP (US) or Registration of Canadians Abroad, and check RATP and SNCF Connect before each trip.
