October 24, 2026 — Shangri-La Singapore has redesigned its Valley Wing, the hotel’s exclusive wing with a private entrance. The new rooms and suites are open for stays from October 2026.
What is happening
The announcement was published October 23. Shangri-La says the work on the Valley Wing goes beyond a normal refurbishment. Shangri-La Singapore opened in 1971 as the group’s flagship. It sits in 15 acres of tropical gardens near Orchard Road, and its directory listing shows 792 rooms. According to the hotel’s website, the Valley Wing has 131 rooms, 26 of them suites.
The redesign takes cues from Singapore’s historic shophouses, Asian craftsmanship and classical European proportions. It uses geometric latticework, moldings, botanical illustrations, crystal chandeliers and a palette of soft greens, muted golds and gentle blues. The Executive Rooms, Executive Suites and Premier Suites were all redone. The announcement gave no cost, timeline or designer.

- Singapore Suite: A two-bedroom presidential suite with a private whirlpool bath and wide views.
- Valley Wing guests get a private driveway, their own lobby and separate check-in, breakfast in the Summit Room, and afternoon tea, Champagne and evening canapés in the Valley Wing Lounge.
What it means for airline travelers
- Disruption: The announcement says the Valley Wing is already open for stays, so this stay should not involve building work.
- Getting there: Singapore Changi (SIN) serves the city. Neither source gave transfer times from the airport to the hotel.
- Value for longer layovers: The Valley Wing’s breakfast, lounge and private check-in could make it a comfortable base for a Singapore stopover. Its price will be well above the hotel’s standard rooms.
- Industry rates: The announcement did not mention travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
