October 30, 2026 — Update: TUI Cruises has chosen Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven to repair Mein Schiff 3 after the ship collided with a container ship while leaving Bremerhaven, Germany, in rough weather. We first reported the collision on October 27.
What changed
- Shipyard chosen: Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven will carry out the repairs, according to Cruise Industry News. The ship is expected to move to the yard’s pier on Sunday, November 1.
- Cruise cancelled: The damage forced TUI to cancel its planned cruise to the Canary Islands. The dates of that cruise were not given in the report (TBA).
- Next sailing in question: Mein Schiff 3’s next scheduled cruise is “Enchanting Norway,” a 14-night round trip from Bremerhaven on November 14–28. Whether it will go ahead is TBA. TUI said it expects more clarity at the beginning of next week.
- No injuries: No one was hurt in the collision.
TUI said booked guests and travel partners will be notified as soon as new information is available. “The safety of our guests and crew is our top priority in every decision,” the line said. No compensation details have been published (TBA).
What it means for airline travelers
- Booked on November 14? Hold off on nonrefundable flights to Bremen or Hamburg until TUI confirms whether the Norway cruise will sail.
- Already ticketed? Ask your agent or TUI what happens to flights booked through them if the cruise is cancelled, and check your airline’s change rules.
- Standby travelers have more flexibility here: you can wait for TUI’s update early next week before committing to a date.
