October 31, 2026 — Orient Express Corinthian, the first ship from the Orient Express brand and described as the world’s largest sailing ship, has arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados to start its Caribbean winter season.
The details
- The 30,000-ton ship, built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, crossed from Lisbon via Ponta Delgada on a 14-night “Ocean Rebirth” wellness voyage with Guerlain. The arrival date was not given.
- From October 2026 through spring 2027 it sails Caribbean, Bahamas and U.S. itineraries, visiting places such as the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Saint Martin, Saint-Barth, Barbuda, Antigua, Barbados and Puerto Rico.
- Example: a five-night January 2027 voyage from Marigot, Saint-Martin to San Juan, Puerto Rico, calling at St. Kitts and Nevis, Falmouth Bay (Antigua) and Virgin Gorda.
- In spring 2027 the ship crosses back to Europe from Lisbon (date TBA). Its next summer season will add its first Eastern Mediterranean trips.
What it means for airline travelers
- Many voyages are one way. For the January Marigot–San Juan trip, fly into Princess Juliana (SXM) on Sint Maarten and home from San Juan (SJU).
- Small-island flights have fewer seats. Arrive at least a day early, more if you’re flying standby, as Caribbean flights fill fast in winter.
- No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
