October 31, 2026 — Singapore Airlines has extended the suspension of its Singapore–Dubai service to February 28, 2027, a full year after the flights stopped.
What happened
In an advisory updated October 30, SIA said flights SQ494/SQ495 between Singapore and Dubai stay cancelled until February 28, 2027, citing the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, and warned that “other SIA flights may be affected.” The previous end date was December 1. No restart date has been announced (TBA).

| May 1, 2026 | Aug 2, 2026 |
| Jul 15, 2026 | Oct 24, 2026 |
| Oct 1, 2026 | Dec 1, 2026 |

Direct bookings can be refunded in full for the unused value through SIA’s Assistance Request Form; travel agent and partner-airline bookings go through the original seller. The notice mentions refunds, not rebooking. Low-cost arm Scoot’s Jeddah flights are off until December 2, 2026, and SIA’s planned Riyadh launch has reportedly slipped to March 28, 2027.
According to Gulf News’ October 31 flight-status roundup, other carriers are also holding back from the region: Lufthansa has pushed its Dubai return to November 25, ITA Airways is out until November 30, and Cathay Pacific’s Riyadh flights are suspended to January 31, 2027.
What it means for non-revs
- With SIA out, AeroCorner says Emirates is the only airline flying Singapore–Dubai nonstop (four daily). Expect heavy loads on those flights, so standby chances on EK between SIN and DXB will be tight.
- Staff of SIA and partner airlines planning Dubai trips this winter should route via other hubs and list on several options.
- Keep checking for further extensions; SIA has pushed this date back five times this year.
