Formula 1 at Interlagos, rum on Barbados, pirates in Grand Cayman, Cartagena’s independence party, a free museum night in Buenos Aires and Divali in Trinidad: six events with confirmed 2026 dates.

When: Friday–Sunday, November 6–8, 2026. Qualifying is Saturday, November 7; the race starts Sunday, November 8 at 2 p.m. local time.

The Formula 1 round at Interlagos is one of the most atmospheric on the calendar, with big, loud crowds in grandstand sectors around the track and a festival feel across the city on race weekend.

2. Barbados Food & Rum Festival — Barbados (Oistins, Bridgetown and The Crane)

When: Thursday–Sunday, November 5–8, 2026.

Barbados’s flagship food festival brings international and Bajan chefs, rum tastings, themed dinners and parties. Weekend highlights include the Rise & Rum breakfast beach party on Saturday, November 7 and the Liquid Gold Feast on Sunday, November 8.

Nearest airport: Grantley Adams International (BGI). Oistins is about 6 km / 10–15 minutes away; Bridgetown venues about 25–30 minutes.

Getting there: Taxis wait at BGI and charge fixed fares by zone. Public buses also run along the south coast.

Good to know: Tickets run US$100–175 for signature events, which tend to sell out.

3. Pirates Week Festival — George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

When: Friday, November 6 – Saturday, November 14, 2026 on Grand Cayman (covers November 7–8 and Saturday, November 14).

The Cayman Islands’ national festival traditionally opens with a costumed pirate “landing” on the George Town waterfront, followed by parades, live music, fireworks, heritage days with Caymanian crafts, dance and food, and family events. The 2026 theme is “Spirits, Gold and Glory.”

Nearest airport: Owen Roberts International (GCM), about 3 km / 5–10 minutes to the waterfront.

Getting there: Taxis meet every flight with regulated fares; downtown and Seven Mile Beach hotels are 10–20 minutes away.

Good to know: Check the day-by-day schedule on the festival site before you fly; the opening weekend is the busiest.

4. Fiestas de la Independencia de Cartagena — Cartagena de Indias, Colombia

When: Through November 16, 2026, with events on both weekends: the Desfile de la Diversidad on Sunday, November 8; a major concert and Salsa a la Plaza on Saturday, November 14; and the Cabildo de Getsemaní on Sunday, November 15.

Colombia’s biggest Caribbean-coast street celebration marks Cartagena’s 1811 independence with parades, costumed comparsas, drumming, salsa and big-name concerts, many in and around the walled Old City and Getsemaní. Midweek peaks fall on November 11–13.

Nearest airport: Rafael Núñez International (CTG), about 3 km / 10–15 minutes to the walled city.

Getting there: Taxis from the official airport rank are quick and cheap, but expect road closures near parade routes.

Good to know: Street events are generally free. November 11–15 will be very crowded.

Nearest airport: Piarco International (POS), about 25 km / 30–45 minutes to Chaguanas.
