ISTANBUL, November 5, 2026 — Turkish Airlines made $1.29 billion in net profit in the third quarter (July–September 2026). That is down 6.4% from a year earlier, as fuel costs rose much faster than revenue.

Q3 2026 results

Measure Q3 2026 Change
Total revenue $8.30bn +19.3%
Passenger revenue $6.8bn +15.4%
Cargo revenue $1.23bn +45.6%
Net income $1.29bn −6.4%
Operating profit (main operations) $929m −12.3%
Fuel expense $2.61bn +58.5%
Passengers 28.5m +4.7%
Load factor 87.1% up from 85.6%

EBITDAR margin narrowed 4.2 points to 25.4%. For the first nine months, revenue was $21.42 billion (+20.2%) and net income $1.71 billion (−15.4%). The airline did not publish guidance, fleet updates or AJet figures in the report covered here.

What it means for non-revs

  • Planes are fuller. A load factor of 87.1%, up from 85.6%, plus 4.7% more passengers means fewer open seats on average. Have a backup plan when you connect through Istanbul.
  • ZED/interline: no change to agreements was reported. With fuel costs this high, watch for capacity trimming on weaker routes. None has been announced.
