October 4, 2026 — Hilton will bring its Tempo by Hilton lifestyle brand to Germany with a 199-room hotel at Munich Airport, due to open in 2029. Tempo by Hilton Munich Airport Arena will stand on the campus of the planned MUNICH ARENA concert venue.
Hilton announced the signing on October 2. The hotel is in Freising, at the airport. SWMUNICH Accommodation GmbH, part of the MUNICH ARENA group, owns it. Allresto, a Munich Airport subsidiary, will manage it.
The arena is planned for about 20,000 concertgoers, in partnership with Live Nation. Hilton development director Thorsten Faasch said Tempo offers “a stylish, contemporary experience designed for active travellers.”

- 199 rooms, each with Tempo’s “Get Ready Zone”: a vanity mirror, a desk and an open wardrobe
- A gym with cardio, weights and recovery areas
- A ground-floor café
- A rooftop bar with cocktails and small plates
- Hilton Honors benefits, including app check-in and Digital Key

What it means for airline travelers
- Nothing to book yet. The opening is about three years away and no reservation date has been set.
- Another branded choice at MUC. Munich Airport handles more than 43 million passengers a year, Hilton says. For crews and standby travelers stuck overnight, an on-airport lifestyle hotel adds an option.
- Expect concert-night pricing. The hotel is built to house fans, artists and crews for a 20,000-capacity arena. Airport hotel rates may jump on show dates once the venue opens.
- Tempo is still new in Europe. Hilton lists Tempo hotels in Belfast, Lisbon and Reykjavik, and 86 open or in the pipeline worldwide.
- Travel-industry rates: none have been published for this hotel.
