October 6, 2026 — Holland America Line will send six ships to Alaska in 2027 for its 80th year in the state, adding a new eight-day Inside Passage cruise from Vancouver.

The Carnival Corporation brand will sail from Seattle, Vancouver and Whittier between April and September 2027 with Eurodam, Koningsdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam and Zaandam. Renovations at the line’s Denali lodge are due to finish in 2027.

President Beth Bodensteiner called Alaska “an important part of Holland America Line’s story for nearly 80 years.”

What it means for airline travelers

  • Three gateways: Seattle (SEA), Vancouver (YVR) and Anchorage (ANC) for Whittier sailings.
  • One-way cruises need open-jaw flights. Sailings between Whittier and Vancouver start and end in different countries, so list for both cities early.
  • Summer loads to Alaska are heavy. Flying standby to Anchorage or Seattle between June and August calls for arriving at least a day ahead.
  • Vancouver means a border crossing. Carry a passport and allow time for Canadian entry before embarkation.
  • Interline rates: the announcement does not mention travel-industry pricing. Fares are TBA.
