Viceroy Park Avenue Now Set to Open February 1, 2027, Later Than First Announced

October 10, 2026 — Viceroy Park Avenue, the New York flagship of Viceroy Hotels & Residences, is now scheduled to open on February 1, 2027, according to trade reports published October 9. When the hotel was announced in July, the opening was set for December 2026.

The new date appears in coverage of the hotel’s general manager appointment. Travel And Tour World and Nomad Lawyer both give February 1, 2027, and French trade title La Tribune de l’Hôtellerie gives February 2027. None of the three mentions the earlier December target or gives a reason for the change. The hotel’s own website shows only “Coming Soon” and no opening date.

The 252-room hotel is at Park Avenue South and 29th Street in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood, in the building that was the Royalton Park Avenue. Nicholas Untermann has been named general manager.

What it means for airline travelers

Holiday-season stays are off the table. If you were waiting on this hotel for a December or January New York trip, plan on another property. The first bookable night should now be February 1, 2027, at the earliest.
Treat the date as provisional. It comes from trade coverage, not from a booking page. Viceroy’s website has not posted an opening date or opened reservations, so wait for that before building a trip around it.
Pricing is luxury-tier. Afar reported in August that rates would start at $900 a night. No travel-industry or airline-employee rate has been published.
Getting there. New York is served by JFK, LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark (EWR). The hotel is in NoMad, between the Flatiron District and Midtown.
New-hotel caution. Rooftop pools and restaurants at new hotels often open in stages. Confirm which venues are operating if you book in the first weeks.
