October 12, 2026 — One of the most exclusive adults-only all-inclusives off Cancun is changing its name tag. Impression Isla Mujeres, now part of Hyatt’s Impression by Secrets line, is scheduled to move into The Unbound Collection by Hyatt early next month, keeping its all-inclusive format and butler service.

What is happening

Hyatt first disclosed the move in a September 29 newsroom release, saying the resort will transition into The Unbound Collection by Hyatt on November 2, 2026. Caribbean Journal revisited the change on October 11 with fresh detail on what guests can expect. Note that the resort’s own page on hyatt.com currently gives the date as November 1, 2026, so the exact switchover day differs by one day between Hyatt’s sources.

This is a rebranding only. Neither source describes a renovation or a closure tied to the change, and Hyatt says the all-inclusive plan and butler-led service carry over into the new brand.

What guests will find

  • Ocean-view suites with private balconies, dual rain showers and in-suite wine refrigerators.
  • A dedicated butler for each stay.
  • Terraced infinity pools on several levels, overwater hammocks and a four-story waterslide that drops into the ocean.
  • A spa with hydrotherapy and open-air treatment rooms.
  • Two named restaurants: Spezia (Italian) and UNIK The Kitchen (Mediterranean, Mexican and Asian influences).
  • Activities including snorkeling, paddleboarding, cooking classes, mixology and bike tours.
  • Access by resort catamaran from Marina Hacienda del Mar, a ride of about 45 minutes, subject to weather and availability.

Hyatt also says the resort will take part in a new Unbound Collection experiences program built around local culture, private culinary moments and meetings with local artists and makers. In Caribbean Journal’s words, each guest gets “a dedicated butler” as a single point of contact.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Getting there: The resort sits off the coast of Cancun, so Cancun International Airport (CUN) is the gateway. Plan for the airport-to-marina transfer plus the roughly 45-minute catamaran crossing from Marina Hacienda del Mar, which depends on weather and availability. Build in slack on arrival day rather than booking the last flight of the day.
  • Weather buffer: Because the final leg is by boat, a late or diverted flight can mean missing the crossing. Flying in a day early and staying on the mainland is the safer play, especially if you are on standby.
  • No construction disruption reported: Neither Hyatt nor Caribbean Journal mentions renovation work tied to the brand change, so stays around the November switchover should not be affected by construction.
  • Existing bookings and loyalty: The resort’s hyatt.com page lists it as part of World of Hyatt. Neither source says how existing reservations will be handled at the changeover; if you are booked over November 1–2, check your confirmation with Hyatt.
  • Industry and airline-employee rates: None were mentioned in the sources. Check Hyatt’s travel-industry rate channels or your airline’s employee travel portal before booking.
