What guests will find
- Lotti’s Bar: Rebuilt with stained oak, polished nickel, bentwood chairs and red marble, plus new seats facing the canal.
- Lobby and restaurant: New booth seating and vintage ceramics in the lobby, and a more intimate layout at Lotti’s Restaurant. A partnership with Uncommon brings new pastries and specialty coffee during the day.
- The Apartment: The shared pantry, courtyard and meeting rooms were redone with terracotta tiles, oak joinery and new lighting and art.
- Signature Rooms: Five individually designed rooms. One was once the bedroom of an Amsterdam mayor and keeps 17th-century details. Another has a private courtyard terrace, and a third has its own entrance from the canal-house steps. Extras include a turntable, a Smeg mini fridge and a Dyson hairdryer.
- Design: AIME Studios, drawing on Dutch craft, mid-century design and De Stijl. Existing furniture was reused or reupholstered where possible.
What it means for airline travelers
- Getting there: Direct trains from Schiphol (AMS) reach Amsterdam Centraal in about 17–20 minutes. Several run each hour from early morning until about 1 a.m., then roughly hourly overnight, for about €5–6 one way. You can tap a contactless card at the gates.
- Disruption: The work is finished, so you shouldn’t expect construction during a stay.
- Booking: The Signature Rooms are one-offs, so book early if you want a particular one.
- Rates: Prices weren’t published, and there’s no mention of travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
