Route Roundup: JetBlue Launches Fort Lauderdale–Cali, Avelo Adds Two Florida Routes From McKinney

JetBlue opened daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Cali, Colombia, on Thursday, and Avelo added two more Florida routes from its new North Texas base at McKinney National Airport. Overseas, Pobeda is adding three Russia–Dubai routes and Air India is bringing back Delhi–Osaka. On the cutback side, Austrian will leave Vienna–Cologne/Bonn in January, and Ethiopian is pausing most Addis Ababa–Atlanta flights until early December.

New Routes

JetBlue: Fort Lauderdale (FLL) – Cali, Colombia (CLO)

• Starts: Oct. 15, 2026 (service launched)
• Frequency: Daily
• Aircraft: Airbus A320

Cali becomes JetBlue’s fourth Colombian destination. Flight 1535 is scheduled to leave FLL at 10:05 a.m. and reach Cali at 12:52 p.m.; the return, Flight 1540, leaves Cali at 2:10 p.m. and lands at FLL at 7:00 p.m. (local times, subject to change).

Avelo Airlines: McKinney, Texas (McKinney National) – Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida

• Starts: Dec. 16, 2026
• Frequency: 2x weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays)
• Aircraft: TBA

Avelo Airlines: McKinney, Texas (McKinney National) – West Palm Beach, Florida

• Starts: Dec. 17, 2026
• Frequency: 2x weekly (Thursdays and Sundays)
• Aircraft: TBA

These two routes bring Avelo’s announced McKinney network to 11 destinations. Avelo says it will base three Boeing 737s at the airport but has not said which type flies each route. The carrier is also adding two temporary weekly McKinney–Las Vegas flights for the holidays, taking that route to six a week. McKinney’s first Avelo flights are set for Nov. 11.

AI360 is scheduled to depart Delhi at 10:50 p.m., arriving in Osaka at 9:50 a.m. the next day; AI361 returns at 11:50 a.m., landing in Delhi at 6:20 p.m. Note: the schedule’s operating-day codes appear to cover more than four days a week, so the exact frequency may be revised.

Austrian currently flies the route up to twice daily in the winter schedule. Eurowings will keep serving the city pair after Austrian leaves.

Ethiopian Airlines: Addis Ababa (ADD) – Atlanta (ATL), via Rome (FCO) (temporary suspension)

• Effective: Oct. 20 – Dec. 8, 2026

Ethiopian is cancelling most ET518/ET519 Boeing 787-8 flights in this window. Departures from Addis Ababa on Nov. 1 and Nov. 29 are still scheduled to operate. Westbound flights make a technical stop in Rome.
