DENVER, Colorado — October 23, 2026 — Denver International Airport announced on Thursday, October 22, that it has opened a new eight-lane North Security Checkpoint and a new meet-and-greet area outside international arrivals, the latest pieces of its Great Hall renovation of the Jeppesen Terminal.

What’s new

  • North Security Checkpoint: Eight lanes, open daily from 12:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. It gives international passengers an easier route to a TSA checkpoint. KRDO reports that availability may be limited.
  • Who should go elsewhere: Passengers who need special assistance, and those with CLEAR or TSA PreCheck, are directed to the East or West Checkpoints.
  • Meet-and-greet area: A new space outside international arrivals for people greeting arriving travelers. It serves international arrivals and passengers coming from the A Bridge.
  • A Bridge changes: From the A Bridge on level six, passengers take an elevator, escalator or stairs down to level five for baggage claim and exits. The new area has seating, art and a new information booth.
  • Art returns: Four works that had been in storage for several years are back in the Great Hall.
  • What’s next: The full Great Hall Program is expected to be finished by the end of 2027.

What it means for non-revs

  • Know the hours. The North checkpoint only runs from 12:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. For early-morning departures, plan on the East or West Checkpoints.
  • PreCheck holders, skip North. If you have PreCheck or CLEAR, head straight to East or West instead.
  • Afternoon flights get another option. An eight-lane checkpoint may help spread security queues on afternoon and evening departures, though availability may be limited.
  • Arriving from overseas? Family picking you up from an international arrival now has a dedicated meet-and-greet area to wait in.
  • Construction continues until 2027. Expect more layout changes in the Great Hall and allow time to follow the signs.
