United Airlines is the big US story today: alongside the San Francisco–Charleston flight we covered yesterday, the carrier is adding daily San Francisco service to Hartford and Oklahoma City plus a weekly Chicago O’Hare–Bermuda run, all starting in spring 2027. Overseas, Royal Jordanian has scheduled its first Beijing flights for late January, Vietnam Airlines is bringing back Da Nang–Singapore, and Sun PhuQuoc Airways is opening long-haul flying to Kazakhstan and Moscow next week. On the cut side, IndiGo has extended its suspension of Saudi Arabia flights as security problems at Saudi airports continue.

Routes Being Discontinued

No permanent route discontinuations were announced in the past 24 hours. The one notable cut is a temporary suspension tied to the security situation in Saudi Arabia.

Quick scan: discontinued and suspended routes

Airline Route Last Day / Effective
IndiGo India → Riyadh (RUH) Suspended now; through October 31, 2026 (restart TBA)
IndiGo India → Jeddah (JED), Dammam (DMM), Madinah (MED) Suspended now; through October 27, 2026 (restart TBA)

IndiGo: Saudi Arabia flights suspended

  • Route: IndiGo services from India to Riyadh (RUH), Jeddah (JED), Dammam (DMM) and Madinah (MED)
  • Effective: Already suspended; Riyadh through October 31, 2026, and Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah through October 27, 2026
  • Restart date: TBA

IndiGo extended the pause after the October 21 attack on Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport, and the carrier has said the dates may change again. Conflict note: a report from The National listed all four IndiGo Saudi stations as suspended only until October 24; we have used the later dates from the October 23 report, and IndiGo’s own notice was not available to us. Many other carriers, including Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad, flydubai, Lufthansa and KLM, have also paused some Saudi flights; check with your carrier before traveling to the region.
