October 26, 2026 — MSC Cruises says its next World-class ship, MSC World Asia, will have more free and grab-and-go food than any previous MSC ship when it starts sailing in the Mediterranean in December.

New and returning casual dining

  • Aqua Food Market (Aqua Deck): a new fast-casual area with five food stalls serving salads, loaded fries, sandwiches, pitas and desserts, to eat there or take to the pool.
  • Buffet Grab & Go: ready-to-eat snacks next to the Aqua Food Market.
  • Pan-Asian Street Food: a new concept with a window serving free daytime street food such as crispy seafood balls and bao buns, plus a specialty restaurant and a bar.
  • Returning: Promenade Bites (free sweet and savory snacks), The Harbour Bar & Bites in the Family Aventura district (free snacks and cold drinks), and the 24-hour Pizza & Burger next to Luna Park. MSC did not say whether Pizza & Burger is free.

In all, the ship will have 20 dining venues: five main restaurants (one reserved for MSC Yacht Club), six concepts, two buffets and seven fast-casual or on-the-go options, among more than 40 bars, lounges and restaurants.

Debut region Mediterranean
First sailing December 2026 (exact date TBA in the announcement)
Homeport / itineraries Not given in the announcement (TBA)

What it means for airline travelers

  • More free casual options mean less spent on specialty dining — useful on a budget.
  • Check your homeport and sailing date with MSC or your agent before you plan flights — the announcement did not give them. For any December debut in Europe, allow at least a day’s buffer for winter weather if you are flying standby.
  • No change to travel-industry or interline rates was mentioned.
