Route Roundup: Discover Takes Over Seattle Flying, Arajet Adds Montevideo, TAP Adds Reykjavik

Lufthansa Group leisure carrier Discover Airlines has filed its first Seattle schedules from Frankfurt and Munich for the northern winter 2027/28 season, taking over flying that Lufthansa mainline operates today, and it is adding Belize City and Kajaani to its map. Elsewhere, Arajet will link Punta Cana with Montevideo from March, TAP Air Portugal plans Lisbon–Reykjavik for spring, and Air New Zealand is adding Christchurch–Bali for next southern winter. On the cut side, Air France has stretched its Riyadh suspension into mid-November. We found no new route announcements from U.S. carriers in the past 24 hours; the United Chicago–Bermuda and Alaska Anchorage–Tokyo stories circulating today were announced between October 24 and 27.

New Routes

Discover Airlines: Frankfurt and Munich – Seattle

Discover has filed Seattle flights from both of Lufthansa’s German hubs starting October 31, 2027. Frankfurt–Seattle is planned at five times weekly and Munich–Seattle at three times weekly, both on the Airbus A330-300. These flights replace Lufthansa mainline flying on the routes rather than opening new city pairs, and they carry Lufthansa codes alongside Discover’s. AeroRoutes notes that the airline had said Seattle would move to Discover from late March 2027, but the summer 2027 schedule still shows Lufthansa flight numbers through October 30, 2027, so the handover date may shift.

Discover Airlines: Frankfurt – San José – Belize City

Belize City becomes a new Discover destination on a triangle routing Frankfurt–San José (Costa Rica)–Belize City–Frankfurt from December 16, 2027, twice weekly on the A330-300. Separately, a four-times-weekly Frankfurt–San José nonstop starts December 14, 2027.

Discover Airlines: Frankfurt – Kajaani

A winter service to Kajaani in Finland begins December 17, 2027, once weekly on the Airbus A320. AeroRoutes describes the schedule as newly filed, so details may change.

Arajet: Punta Cana – Montevideo

The Dominican low-cost carrier will link Punta Cana and Uruguay’s capital from March 3, 2027, starting at three flights weekly and growing to four weekly from July 26, 2027, on the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Flights are scheduled nonstop, with overnight southbound departures from Punta Cana.

TAP Air Portugal: Lisbon – Reykjavik, plus Brazil and Venezuela

TAP will fly Lisbon–Reykjavik/Keflavik from April 1, 2027, three times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Lisbon). Aircraft: TBA. The news follows a new codeshare signed by Icelandair and Air China on October 28. TAP is also adding São Luís in Brazil via Fortaleza, twice weekly on the A321LR (start date TBA), and it resumed Lisbon–Caracas on October 27, 2026, twice weekly (aircraft TBA).

Air New Zealand: Christchurch – Bali, and year-round Singapore

Air New Zealand will fly Christchurch–Bali (Denpasar) three times weekly during the southern winter of 2027, running through the end of August 2027. Start date: TBA; bookings are expected to open later this year. Aircraft: TBA. Christchurch–Singapore, which restarted on October 28, 2026, will now run year-round instead of seasonally (frequency and aircraft TBA).

Kuwait Airways: Kuwait City – Phuket

Kuwait Airways is adding Phuket twice weekly (Tuesday and Saturday) on the Airbus A330-900neo, with up to four weekly flights planned December 2, 2026 to February 3, 2027. Start date: TBA.

Syrian Airlines: Aleppo – Moscow

Syrian Airlines resumes Aleppo–Moscow Sheremetyevo on November 18, 2026, once weekly, with an Airbus A320 listed in the schedule.

Marabu Airlines: Nuremberg leisure additions

Marabu adds two Nuremberg routes for summer 2027: Lamezia Terme in Italy twice weekly (Monday and Thursday) and Preveza in Greece once weekly (Saturday). Start dates and aircraft: TBA. Marabu is also increasing Palma de Mallorca to twice daily from June 2027 and Olbia to five weekly.

easyJet: Ljubljana

easyJet has opened Ljubljana–London Luton at up to four times weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday); exact start date and aircraft TBA. Ljubljana–Berlin Brandenburg resumes April 7, 2027, twice weekly (Wednesday and Sunday) on the Airbus A320.

Air India Express: Abu Dhabi

Air India Express has launched Abu Dhabi–Amritsar and brought back Abu Dhabi–Goa, each three times weekly. Exact start dates and aircraft: TBA.

Routes Being Discontinued

Air France: Riyadh and Dubai suspensions

Air France has extended its suspension of Paris–Riyadh through November 14, 2026, and Paris–Dubai remains suspended through October 31, 2026. The date the suspensions began (last day flown): TBA in the sources we reviewed. These are temporary suspensions, not permanent exits.

We found no other permanent route exits announced in the past 24 hours. Recent cuts from Air Canada, American and WestJet were announced earlier in October and are not repeated here.
