What it means for airline travelers
- Puerto Rico sailings start in San Juan (SJU). San Juan is easy to reach from many U.S. cities. Still plan to arrive the day before, especially on standby, because holiday-season flights to the Caribbean fill up.
- The transatlantic is one way. If you book it, plan to fly into Rome (FCO) and home from San Juan.
- No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
