November 3, 2026 — IHG Hotels & Resorts has brought Yas World Resort, the six-hotel complex on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island formerly known as Yas Plaza Hotels, into its Vignette Collection. With more than 1,400 rooms and suites, it is described as the largest Vignette Collection hotel anywhere.

What is happening

IHG added the resort to the Vignette Collection on November 2, 2026, combining six hotels into one integrated property. This is a rebrand of existing hotels rather than a new build, so the buildings are already open. A separate effective date for any changes to signage or booking channels was not published (TBA).

Detail Information
Property Yas World Resort, Vignette Collection (formerly Yas Plaza Hotels)
Brand / parent Vignette Collection / IHG Hotels & Resorts
Developer Aldar
Location Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Change Rebrand into Vignette Collection, November 2, 2026
Rooms More than 1,400 rooms and suites across six hotels
The six hotels Verde (mangroves theme), Vista (bay), Pulse (circuit and motorsport), Horizon (marina), Fairway (golf) and Haven (longer stays)

Features

  • 21 restaurants and bars across the six hotels and shared areas.
  • Six swimming pools, three spas, three kids’ clubs and gyms.
  • Padel, tennis and squash courts.
  • Shared access to a private beach, Cyan Beach.
  • Close to Yas Island attractions including Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, SeaWorld Yas Island, Yas Waterworld, Yas Marina Circuit, Etihad Arena, Yas Links and Yas Mall.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Airport: Yas Island’s official visitor site says the island is about 15 minutes by road from Zayed International Airport (AUH) in Abu Dhabi, and Dubai is less than an hour away by road. That makes this one of the easiest big resort complexes in the Gulf to reach from the airport.
  • Layovers and short stays: Because it is so close to AUH, it can work for a short break between flights, though you should check the hotel’s own check-in and check-out times.
  • No construction: This is a brand change for hotels that are already running, so no renovation closure has been announced.
  • Points: Vignette Collection is an IHG brand, but the article did not say when IHG One Rewards earning and redemption start here. Check IHG’s booking site before you count on points.
  • Discount rates: The source did not mention any travel-industry or airline-employee rates.
  • Big events: With Yas Marina Circuit and Etihad Arena next door, expect rates and occupancy to rise on major event dates. Book early for those weekends.
