November 4, 2026 — Update: MSC Cruises has now cancelled the 11-night MSC Poesia voyage that never left PortMiami after the U.S. Coast Guard held the ship for inspection, and it has set out compensation for guests. Separately, a national strike in France has wiped out MSC Preziosa‘s November 5 call at Le Havre.

What changed since yesterday

Yesterday’s report covered the Coast Guard hold, which began on Sunday, November 1, 2026, with no departure time announced. Cruise Hive now reports that MSC Cruises (part of MSC Group) cancelled the sailing on the morning of Tuesday, November 3. MSC called the cause a “regulatory matter,” and the Coast Guard said it was not a CDC health inspection. No specific findings have been published.

MSC Preziosa skips Le Havre because of French strike

A nationwide strike and protest planned in France on Thursday, November 5, 2026 led MSC to cancel MSC Preziosa‘s Le Havre call that day. The ship will instead stay overnight in Zeebrugge, Belgium, leaving at 6 p.m. on November 5 rather than 6 p.m. on November 4. The captain’s notice was dated November 3.

  • Guests with MSC-booked Le Havre excursions will be refunded to their onboard accounts.
  • The ship’s overlapping embarkation ports are Le Havre, Southampton, Hamburg and Amsterdam. MSC had not said how guests due to board in Le Havre on November 5 for a seven-night cruise will be handled (TBA).

Also from MSC: MSC World Asia one month out

MSC says its newest World-class ship, MSC World Asia, is due for delivery on November 25, 2026 and will welcome its first guests on December 4, 2026, starting with Mediterranean seasons before moving to the Caribbean for winter 2027–28 on seven- and 14-night Southern Caribbean itineraries.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Poesia guests flying home: you can stay on board until noon on November 5. If you cannot get a flight that day, keep your hotel receipts, because MSC says it will reimburse a hotel night in that case. Miami (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) both serve PortMiami.
  • Flying standby home from Miami: with a whole ship’s worth of guests leaving early and in a short window, seats out of MIA and FLL may be tighter than usual. Look at more than one flight and both airports.
  • Booked on the November 12 Poesia sailing? Its status has not been announced. Hold off on firm flights, or keep them changeable, until MSC confirms.
  • Preziosa guests boarding in Le Havre on November 5: contact MSC before you travel to find out where and when you can board.
  • Keep paperwork: save flight-change receipts and transport costs, since MSC says eligible change fees and transport charges may be reimbursed.
  • No travel-industry or interline rates were mentioned.
