November 6, 2026 — Sun Princess is crossing the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale, where it will start a winter of Caribbean cruises on November 21.
What is happening
The 4,300-guest Princess Cruises ship (Carnival Corporation) left Barcelona in late October on a 15-night repositioning voyage, calling at Málaga, Cádiz, Gibraltar, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the UK. It wraps up a Mediterranean season of about six months.
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| November 21, 2026 | Arrives Fort Lauderdale; winter season begins |
| From November 2026 | Six-night Eastern Caribbean cruises calling at Celebration Key, Grand Turk and Amber Cove |
| Through March 2027 | Six-night Eastern Caribbean cruises continue, plus weeklong Caribbean sailings to Cozumel, Roatán and San Juan |
| Early April 2027 | Returns to Europe for a summer season running to early November 2027 |
What it means for airline travelers
- Thanksgiving timing: the ship arrives the weekend before Thanksgiving, so the first sailings fall in one of the busiest flying weeks of the year. Standby seats into South Florida will be tight. Fly in a day or two early.
- Airports: Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is closest to Port Everglades, with Miami (MIA) and Palm Beach (PBI) as backups.
- Disembarking from the transatlantic voyage on November 21? Leave room in your flight home in case of a late disembarkation.
- Interline and travel-industry rates: none were mentioned.
