November 6, 2026 — Marella Cruises, the UK cruise line in the TUI group, has announced four new venues for Marella Discovery 2. They will take over the ship’s former children’s spaces now that it sails as an adults-only ship.
What was announced
Marella first announced the adults-only switch in June 2026. The new venues will open by early 2027. Paid venues must be booked in advance.
| Venue | What it is | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Amplify Karaoke | Private karaoke lounge for up to seven guests, booked by the hour | £14.95 per room per hour |
| The Lost Luggage Bureau | 90-minute speakeasy show for up to 42 guests, with three signature cocktails | £19.95 per person |
| Red Handed | 60-minute escape room for teams of up to six | £16.95 per person |
| The Loft | 24-hour library with board games and hosted crafts; no booking needed | Included in the all-inclusive fare |
The ship’s climbing wall is also getting a wider range of hold sizes.
What it means for airline travelers
- Travelling with family? Marella Discovery 2 no longer takes children. The minimum age was not given in the announcement (TBA), so check before booking with grown children or grandchildren.
- Book the extras early: the paid venues have small capacities, so reserve them as soon as booking opens, especially on a short trip.
- Timing: the venues open by early 2027. Cruises before then may not have them yet.
- Interline and travel-industry rates: none were mentioned.
