November 6, 2026 — Ecuador-based Galaxy Cruises has added two vessels to its Galápagos fleet: a 12-guest expedition yacht and a 16-guest day-trip yacht.
The new vessels
| Vessel | Guests | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Stella | 12 (six cabins) | U.S.-built Broward luxury expedition yacht. Four-day southern, five-day eastern and eight-day western routes; southern and eastern can be combined into eight days. Available for full charter. |
| Galaxy Skape | 16 | Italian-built Ferretti 731, the fastest in the fleet. Day trips to North Seymour, South Plaza and Bartolomé. |
Start-of-service dates: TBA. The company is led by founder and CEO Alexis Gordillo.
What it means for airline travelers
- Getting there: the islands are about a two-hour domestic flight from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra or San Cristóbal. Check which island your yacht leaves from before you book the flight.
- Allow a buffer night: stay a night in Quito or Guayaquil before the island flight. If you are flying standby to Ecuador, give yourself extra days, because the domestic flight and the yacht will not wait.
- Small ships fill fast: with only 12 or 16 guests, space is limited. A full charter of Galaxy Stella is an option for family groups.
- Interline and travel-industry rates: none were mentioned.
