October 1, 2026 — Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has released 39 sailings for January–July 2028, including a return to Canada. Canada cruises go on sale today, and the rest follow on October 7.

What was announced

The British line’s 2028 program features:

Cruise Ship Departs Length From
Canary Islands, Madeira & Solar Eclipse (Málaga to Lisbon) Balmoral Jan 24, 2028 13 nights £1,299
Bermuda, Bahamas & Puerto Rico (round trip Portsmouth) Balmoral Feb 13, 2028 36 nights £3,499
Scenic Norwegian Fjords (round trip Liverpool) Borealis Apr 12, 2028 10 nights £1,299
Nine Nations of Northern Europe (round trip Newcastle) Bolette May 30, 2028 13 nights £1,849
Scenic Highlights of Canada (round trip Liverpool) Borealis Jun 14, 2028 19 nights £2,599

Prices are per person. The Canada voyage calls at Belfast, St. John’s, Quebec City, Humber Arm and the Bay of Islands, L’Anse aux Meadows and Cobh. Fred. Olsen is offering a Freedom Fare price promise on bookings made by November 4, and solo cabins with no single supplement.

What it means for airline travelers

  • UK round trips: Most of these cruises start and end in the UK. North American travelers will fly into Manchester or Liverpool for Liverpool sailings, London for Portsmouth, and Newcastle for Newcastle. Arrive at least a day early, because transatlantic standby loads can be unpredictable.
  • The eclipse cruise is one-way, starting in Málaga and ending in Lisbon, so book open-jaw air.
  • Book by November 4 for the Freedom Fare price promise. Canada sailings can be booked now; the rest of the program opens October 7.
  • Interline and industry fares: No change to travel-industry rates or eligibility has been announced.
