October 1, 2026 — Princess Cruises guests on the West Coast are losing Mexican ports to back-to-back hurricanes. In the Caribbean, Princess ships begin calling at Carnival Corporation’s Celebration Key this month, and higher prices for the line’s drink-and-Wi-Fi packages take effect in mid-October.

Hurricane changes on the Mexican Riviera

  • Grand Princess (10-night cruise that left Los Angeles on September 25, 2026): the October 2 call at Cabo San Lucas has been cancelled because of Hurricane Rachel. Several earlier stops on this cruise were already shortened or cancelled because of Hurricane Polo, and Princess added an overnight in San Diego. Cruise Fever reports that guests on this sailing were offered a choice of a full refund or a $100 onboard credit for the earlier changes.
  • Coral Princess: a Puerto Vallarta call has been cancelled because of the storms. Sailing date: TBA in the reports.

Celebration Key calls start in October

Princess Cruises starts calling at Celebration Key on Grand Bahama in October 2026, Carnival Corporation confirmed. It’s part of an expansion that will bring 31 ships from four Carnival Corporation brands to the destination in 2027. AIDA and Costa will add select calls in late 2027.

Reminder: package and Wi-Fi prices rise October 13

Princess announced earlier this week (reported September 28) that cruises departing on or after October 13, 2026 will cost more per day for its bundled packages:

Package Pre-cruise (per day) Onboard (per day)
Princess Plus $65 → $70 $70 → $75
Princess Premier $100 → $105 $105 → $110

Prices on Sun Princess and Star Princess run $5 higher than the figures above. Princess is also dropping its standalone four-device Wi-Fi plan, which remains available only as part of Premier, and is adding a two-device plan at $39.99 per day pre-cruise or $47.99 per day on board.

What it means for airline travelers

  • Grand Princess and Coral Princess guests: Your end-of-cruise dates have not been reported as changing, so keep your return flights. Do confirm the disembarkation time in the Princess app before you list for a flight.
  • Booking a Princess cruise departing after October 12? If you want Plus or Premier, buy it before you sail. The pre-cruise rate is $5 a day cheaper than buying on board.
  • Celebration Key cruises leave from Florida ports, so look at MCO, FLL and MIA depending on the homeport. Fly in a day early when you’re flying standby.
  • Interline and industry fares: No change to travel-industry rates or eligibility has been announced.
