October 2, 2026 — Raleigh’s round 1969 tower on Hillsborough Street reopened on October 1, 2026 as Hotel Indigo Raleigh after a $36 million renovation. It is the first IHG hotel in downtown Raleigh.
The 204-room hotel is at 320 Hillsborough Street. Tidal Real Estate Partners bought the building in 2021, and Sage Hospitality Group manages it. The tower received historic landmark status in 2015, and the renovation kept its curved footprint.
New York design firm Inc. handled the mid-century-modern interiors, with work by North Carolina artists throughout. High Ground Lounge on the 20th floor serves Southern food and cocktails with city views, and a vintage Airstream in the courtyard works as the coffee bar. There is also a ground-floor community lounge, meeting space and a 1,500-square-foot fitness center. General manager Carlos Faz said the building “has been part of Raleigh’s story for generations.”
