October 2, 2026 — Nobu Hospitality plans to open its first Puerto Rico hotel in San Juan in 2028, a 50-room property with a Nobu restaurant at street level and a rooftop bar.
Travel Weekly reports the hotel is a partnership between Nobu and real estate firm KTT. An exact address and opening date have not been published (TBA). Travel Market Report says the design will pair the character of historic San Juan with Nobu’s contemporary look, with a signature Nobu restaurant and bar on the ground floor and a rooftop lounge above.
Nobu chief executive Trevor Horwell called Puerto Rico “one of the Caribbean’s most compelling destinations.” Travel Weekly notes the company runs 20 Nobu Hotels with about 30 more in development. Caribbean Journal describes the San Juan project as the brand’s second Caribbean hotel.

What it means for airline travelers
- Nothing to book yet: reservations are not open and no rates have been published.
- Small hotel: at 50 rooms, availability will be tight once it opens; this will not be a last-minute standby fallback.
- Easy to reach: San Juan needs no passport for U.S. citizens and is served by SJU, so it is one to watch for 2028.
