October 3, 2026 — Hyatt Centric Sapporo opened today in the middle of Hokkaido’s capital, giving Hyatt its first hotel in Sapporo.

The hotel has 216 rooms, nine of them suites. It sits in the Urbannet Sapporo Link Tower, a 26-story mixed-use building developed by NTT Urban Development. Hyatt Centric takes the ground floor and floors 17 to 26, with guest rooms on floors 19 to 26. Every room is at least 36 square meters (388 square feet), and the largest suite is 116 square meters.

The tower stands beside the Red Brick Building, the former Hokkaido Government Office, and close to Odori Park. An underground walkway leads to Odori subway station in a few minutes, and JR Sapporo Station is about a 10-minute walk.

There are two places to eat: Matsu Grill & Bar on the 17th floor, which cooks Hokkaido seafood and produce over a wood fire, and Mr. Fish on the ground floor, a casual fish-and-chips counter with takeout. The hotel also has a 24-hour fitness center, an event space and paid parking for 20 cars. General manager Yuki Takimura said the hotel is “designed to be an ideal starting point for exploration.”

Opening offer

Hyatt is offering 15% off, or 17% off for World of Hyatt members, with daily breakfast, a JPY 3,000 hotel credit per room per stay, and double World of Hyatt points on eligible charges. Book by October 31, 2026 for stays through December 31, 2026.
