October 5, 2026 — Adora Cruises has started moving crew aboard its new ship Adora Flora City ahead of a maiden voyage set for November 22, 2026.

Nearly 600 crew members boarded on October 1, the first group of a complement that will reach almost 1,300. Chief executive Chen Ranfeng said the first arrivals come from “more than 20 countries” and have international cruise experience.

Key dates

Niklas Peterstam will be the ship’s first captain, with Wei Zhiyi named as its first Chinese captain. Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing is the godmother. What it means for airline travelers

  • Airport: Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN) is the city’s international airport. The Nansha terminal is in the far south of Guangzhou, a long transfer from the airport, so do not plan a same-day arrival on standby.
  • Entry rules: Check current China visa or visa-free transit rules for your passport before listing for a flight. Requirements differ by nationality and by itinerary.
  • Delivery comes first. The maiden voyage is 16 days after the planned handover. New-ship dates can move, so keep flights flexible until the delivery is confirmed.
  • Interline rates: Adora sells mainly in the Chinese market. The report mentions no travel-industry program.
